LMAX Group has announced a new LMAX Deltix integration, connecting its regulated perpetual futures venue with Deltix, the institutional trading technology business that sits under EPAM Systems. The move gives Deltix’s institutional client base a more direct route into LMAX’s growing suite of digital asset derivatives, building on the London-based firm’s long track record in FX and crypto execution.
The LMAX Deltix integration has been developed in direct collaboration with the Deltix technology team at EPAM, with Geneva Trading brought on board to validate the connectivity before rollout. LMAX states that the integration is aimed at providing scalable and high performance infrastructure that is tailored to the requirements of institutions, and not the kind of connectivity provided for retail clients.
“Through the LMAX Deltix integration, our institutional clients’ connectivity is improved while at the same time enabling more efficient execution, as well as reinforcing the performance and resilience criteria our institutional clients demand from a regulated venue,” said Jenna Wright, Managing Director of Digital Assets, LMAX Group.
“LMAX’s perpetual futures offering is now available via MarketMaker and CryptoCortex, in addition to the connectivity we have established over more than six years within our FX and spot crypto venues,” she added.
It is important to note that the LMAX perpetual futures were first offered by the company back in September 2025. LMAX began trading cash-settled BTC/USD and ETH/USD perpetual futures contracts with up to 100x leverage. LMAX’s CEO David Mercer noted that at the time, LMAX was responding to years of perpetual futures being among the most popular crypto trading products by volume on unregulated or offshore exchanges. LMAX believes there is demand from institutional desks for the same product within a regulated environment. Overall, LMAX’s platform processes more than $40 billion per day in FX and crypto volume. This latest LMAX Deltix integration follows a separate but related move from Deltix itself, which earlier this year connected with Architect Financial Technologies’ AX exchange to broaden its venue coverage into regulated perpetual futures tied to traditional asset classes such as currencies, precious metals, equities, and interest rates. Collectively, these efforts indicate an industry-wide trend in which trading infrastructure providers are expanding access to perpetual futures across multiple venues, allowing institutional clients to pursue arbitrage and portfolio construction through several regulated venues using a single integrated system. LMAX has previously said it plans to add more contracts to its perpetual futures lineup as institutional participation grows, suggesting the current BTC and ETH offering is likely just a starting point rather than the full scope of the product line. The LMAX Deltix integration fits into that broader expansion strategy, giving the firm another distribution channel through an established institutional trading technology partner rather than relying solely on direct onboarding.
The announcement adds LMAX to a growing list of established exchange operators — alongside names like Coinbase, CBOE and others — building out regulated perpetual futures access specifically for institutional desks, hedge funds and investment managers, as demand for compliant, high-leverage digital asset derivatives continues to pick up pace across the industry.
